We segment an input object into several fragments based on the appearance similarity and spatial distribution. Spatial distribution and appearance are important for distinguishing different fragments. We employee such information for separating an object from its background: Appearance information is described by nonparametric representation such as kernels; spatial information is characterized by Gaussians with spatial distribution of fragments. We integrate appearance and spatial information for target localization in images. The overall motion is estimated by the mean shift algorithm. This motion can deviate from the true position in the overall motion estimation because of the mean-shift drifting. We refine the estimated position based on the foreground probabilities. The proposed tracker gives better target localization results and better foreground probability images. Our experimental results demonstrate that the integration of appearance and spatial information by combining parametric and non-parametric representation is effective for tracking targets in difficult sequences.

Online multiple people tracking-by-detection in crowded scenes
Multiple people detection and tracking is a challenging task in real-world crowded scenes. In this paper, we have presented an online multiple people tracking-by-detection approach with a single camera. We have detected objects with deformable part models and a visual background extractor. In the tracking phase we have used a combination of support vector machine (SVM) person-specific classifie...
متن کاملCoping with occlusions in visual tracking of multiple objects
The problem of visual tracking of multiple objects is considered in this paper. Special emphasis is devoted to the case when two OT more objects overlap with respect to the visual system causing occlusion. The algorithm is based on the Kalman filtering and Binary Space Partition tree representations of the objects geometry. The real-time implementation of the algorithm is ezperimentally tested ...
متن کاملP58: Visual Working Memory Performance Based on Saccades in Children with and without Specific Learning Disorder: An Eye-Tracking Study
Some of the previous studies show that children with SLD have deficits in visual processing and working memory. Hence, the aim of this research was to investigate problems of visual working memory based on behavioral neuroscience method, using an eye tracker device. The method of present study was ex-post facto study. The participants included couple of twelve children with SLD (mean age=10.92)...
متن کاملVisual Tracking of Multiple Objects Using Binary Space Partitioning Trees
The use of visual sensors may have high impact in robotic applications where it is required to measure the pose (position and orientation) and the visual features of objects moving in unstructured environments. In this paper, the problem of real-time estimation of the position and orientation of of multiple objects is considered. Special emphasis is devoted to the case when two or more objects ...
متن کاملVisual Tracking using Kernel Projected Measurement and Log-Polar Transformation
Visual Servoing is generally contained of control and feature tracking. Study of previous methods shows that no attempt has been made to optimize these two parts together. In kernel based visual servoing method, the main objective is to combine and optimize these two parts together and to make an entire control loop. This main target is accomplished by using Lyapanov theory. A Lyapanov candidat...
